Martin Watch
Figurative Structural Painting, Emotional Photography
Martin Watch studied Applied and Commercial Photography in the studio of Professor Miroslav Vojtěchovský at the Faculty of Art and Design at the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem. He worked in advertising photography and as a camera operator, as well as a photo editor for one of the largest Czech media houses. Currently, Watch is a freelance artist.
His two-part photographic series entitled The Unique was an international success and later resulted in a limited edition photographic publication of the same name, launched in the Montanelli Museum in Prague. The next major project was a series of photographs called RAW. At present, Watch focuses on painting, using photography as a part of the creative process. Recently, he started working exclusively with figurative structural painting, creating unique painting techniques and newly also experimenting with the creative limits of artificial intelligence.
