Paintings
While creating my expressive works, I draw on photographs of myself, where I model myself. However, the paintings are not pure self-portraits; the physical model serves only as a tool and medium to express the idea and theme of the works. The subjects are, therefore, always essentially figurative in nature.
Through this, I depict basic human emotions, especially with an existential character.
The paintings have a distinct plastic pasty structure, which I correct in various ways during the creation process, intervening in the painting, even with harsher techniques, for example, scraping with a scalpel. In this way, I achieve the necessary sharpness and drama, even in layered structures in some moments. As a rule, I use colour as an expressive means of emphasising the atmosphere of the work.
